SUMMER HEAT LEADS TO HEALTHY HOUSING MARKET I just got off the phone with a friend who lives in the Northeast. He was describing how August nights start to get a little chilly and once September hits the temperature dips into the 50s in the morning and rises to about 80 degrees. I wish we had that. August 2019 Absorption RatesShreveport/Bossier, LA – (Caddo, Bossier, & Desoto Parishes Only) August Summary:  Sales were up.  Average price was up.  Inventory declined.   Sales:  For a second month in a row, homes sales topped last year month-over-month bringing home sales year to date back to almost even for the year.  August posted a strong month with 479 homes sold versus 447 last year.  The 5 year average for August has been 414 so this 479 number was extremely str... read more

July 2019 Market OverviewShreveport/Bossier, LA – (Caddo, Bossier, Desoto Parishes only) July Summary:  Sales were strong.  Average price was up.  Inventory grew slightly.   Sales:  Following a three month stretch of missing last year’s sales numbers, July posted a strong month with 482 homes sold versus 454 last year.  The 5 year average for July has been 419 so this 482 number was extremely strong when you compare back even further than last year.  This still leaves ... read more
