Karen Baker has been singularly honored for her leadership, dedication, time and talent to the real estate industry and numerous local business and charitable organizations by receiving the Coldwell Banker Gosslee Chairman’s Award, given only when an associate or staff member demonstrates extraordinary commitment to their company, profession and community. “Karen is so deserving of the Chairman’s Award due to her unwavering and tireless support of our industry on a local and state level and for her continued service to local organizations that contribute to the betterment of our local area,” says Jimmy Gosslee, Chairman Emeritus, Coldwell Banker Gosslee.
Earning her real estate license in 1997 after graduating from Northwestern State University, Baker has remained passionate about real estate and Shreveport-Bossier City. She takes great pride in the fact she knows her market and has expanded her knowledge to include numerous national real estate designations, including ABR, CRS and GRI to name a few. Karen quickly became a multi-million dollar producer for Coldwell Banker Gosslee and continues to be a top agent each year, often ranked in the Top 10 Agents in Louisiana for Coldwell Banker, and is in the top 1% of Coldwell Banker agents nationwide.
Well known in the real estate industry as an advocate for agent education, Karen encourages involvement in the leadership and legislative aspects of the real estate industry. She is not only an advocate, but an example to all REALTORS®, as demonstrated through her tireless service with our Northwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS® (NWLAR), currently serving as their president, and the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR), having served with both organizations on multiple committees as chairperson and in executive offices. Baker is also a major contributor to the state Political Action Committee and a member of the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Realtor Association (LRA).
Her involvement does not stop at real estate. While she and husband Mark are raising two great children, she takes a very active role in our community as a member of the Independence Bowl Foundation, Northwest Louisiana Homebuilder’s Association, Community Renewal International, River Bend Chapter of Rotary International, and more. Baker is a graduate of the Louisiana Leadership Academy, was named WCR Businesswoman of the Year and recognized as NWLAR Realtor® of the Year in 2015.
