As The Seasons Change, So Does Our Home Decor

As the seasons change, so does our home decor! (You know who you festive people are out there!)

Whether you’re thinking of selling and want to know where to draw the line with “too festive” or are just interested in some Fall staging ideas, we've got you covered!

#1: HOW TO INCORPORATE A FESTIVE FEEL WITHOUT THE HAUNTED HOUSE LOOK

If you are considering putting your house up for sale during the Halloween season, you probably want to keep the haunted house look to a minimum. Avoid decorating with skeletons, bats and RIP signs for the listing photos and showings.

Instead, incorporate warm Fall tones to give your house a cozy feel! Think burnt oranges, butterscotch yellow’s, navy and shades of off white. You could bring these colors in through the throw pillows on your couch, a blanket draped over a decorative basket or ottoman, a pumpkin scented candle, and a vase of Fall florals on the kitchen table. It will incorporate farmhouse and Fall style into one!

TIP #2: WHEN IT COMES TO PUMPKINS, THINK CUTE!

You don’t have to skip your family trip to the pumpkin farm but instead of carving scary faces into the pumpkins to put on display, have some uncarved pumpkins for your front porch.

Pumpkins mixed with Fall florals are the perfect combination for staging your entryway and also budget friendly! Fill your planters with colorful mums and finish it off with a fun doormat!

A mix of orange and white pumpkins make for great accessories on your mantel, in a decorative bowl or vase and even on your bar cart! Try to avoid anything “too” Halloween such as pumpkin strands of lights, pumpkin prints and fake cob webs!

TIP #3: FALL STAGING FOR SHOWINGS

Fall is the best season to create that perfect ambiance for showings (or get togethers). If the weather is right, open up some windows and let in the cool breeze to freshen up the house.

Light that pumpkin scented candle on the coffee table. Set out a vase or 2 of fresh Fall florals to bring the outdoors in and give your space a pop of color. Swap out your hand soap for Fall scents like Apple Cider or Pumpkin Spice.

Make a pot of coffee that the buyers can help themselves to as they walk through your home. Turn on your favorite cozy tunes Spotify playlist.
