(Ashley Levesque, Shandrick Tasby, and Joan Turek)
Coldwell Banker Gosslee teamed up with the Bossier Parish School Board 2 years ago to sponsor BPSB's Award of Excellence medal. Our agents love our community
and are so honored to be able to be a part of such a special award.
The "Award of Excellence" is given to students, teachers, and faculity members for their inspiration, innovation, imagination, passion, perserverance, and pride. Coldwell Banker Gosslee and all of Bossier salutes the most recent recipients:
- Ashley Levesque, Junior at Parkway High School
- Shandrick Tasby, Teacher at Plantation Park Elementary
- Joan Turek, Gifted & Talented Coordinator
You will learn just how amazing they are in the following paragraphs that tell about
each of the recipients and all that they do for our community!
Ashley is a Junior at Parkway High School.
Ashley was one of just 10 students from around the nation and world chosen by the
Military Child Education Coalition for the Frances Hesselbein Student
Leadership Program that took place at West Point.
How awesome is that?!
She is a member of Parkway's Student 2 Student program that helps foster acceptance of new students and eases their transition in and out of their new schools. It is a program designed with the military child in mind, although the program has since grown to include 'all' transitioning students. We love everything about this program. Every new student
should have someone like Ashley to welcome them in!
She is doing an amazing job of representing Bossier Parish and we
cannot wait to hear of all of her successes along the way!
Congrats, Ashley!(Karyn Bodden giving Ashley the Award of Excellence Medal)
Shandrick is a teacher at Plantation Park. He will be awarded as the
Region 7 LACUE Teacher of the Year in New Orleans at the end of this month!
LACUE stands for Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators.
It is an organization that encourages and recognizes innovation in teacher
technology use. Mr. Tasby has shown, not only all of his fellow teachers at Plantation
Park Elementary but also to teachers throughout Bossier Parish, creative ways to
integrate technology into their classrooms.
What an awesome guy! Congrats, Shandrick!
We are excited for all of the innovative ideas that you will
bring to Bossier Parish in the future!
(Karyb Bodden giving Shandrick the Award of Excellence Medal)
Joan Turek is the district's Gifted and Talented Coordinator. She works with 45 Gifted and Talented teaching professionals and oversees the program that has grown to more than 1,500 students that show exceptionalities in art, music, and theater.
Joan also volunteers her time as the driving force behind Destination Imagination
at both the district and state level. She's been involved in creative problem solving
for more than 25 years. It started when she was a parent and it has blossomed
into her being a team manager, appraiser, trainer, school coordinator, and currently,
Regional Director of Louisiana Destination Imagination.
On top of the Award of Excellence, Joan also received
the Bossier Schools' Gold Star Award for the month of October!
In her spare time, she is working on her doctoral degree!
What an amazing asset you are to our Community.
We are blessed to have you and look forward to
all the good that you will continue to bring to Bossier Parish!
(Karyn Bodden giving Joan her Award of Excellence medal)
We are all here to play a role in making our community
a better place and these recipients have made it very clear
that they are all on board for that!
Big thanks to our agents that came last night:

Mary Jo Gray, Helen Ogrin, Adrienne Frierson, and Jessica Wimberly.

cheerleader for Bossier Parish and we are so very lucky to have her!
